For Everyone

Everyone is involved in some sort of relationship. Whether that relationship is marriage, friendship or parenting, there is always room for growth. These day long workshops are for everyone including: singles, couples, parents, single parents and teens.

For singles we look at self-identity and understanding who they are before they try to figure out who they might be with for the rest of their lives. The main curriculum we use is Dr. John Van Epp's "How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk or Jerkette" which brings a very holistic approach to dating.

For couples we look at ways in which they can strengthen their relationship as they contemplate marriage and get to know each other on a deeper level. We will look at topics such as boundaries, familiy relationships, how to get to know eachother better and current trends in dating. We use multiple curricula including "Within My Reach" and a version of "Prepare and Enrich" for couples who are engaged or are thinking about becoming engaged in the near future.

For parents we look at both the relationship between the husband and wife, as well as between the parents and their children. Some of the curricula we use for parents includes: "Love and Logic" for parenting as well as "Prepare and Enrich" and "What Did You Expect?" from Dr. Paul David Tripp. There are specific sessions for single parents that will combined some of the "How To Avoid Falling for a Jerk or Jerkette" with the "Love and Logic" curriculum.

For newlyweds we will use the "Prepare and Enrich" curriculum as well as the "What Did You Expect?" curriculum from Dr. Paul David Tripp. We also encourage newlyweds to find a marriage mentor couple in the church.

For Teens we will look at topics such as relationships with themselves (self-identity), relationships with peers (including the opposite sex), relationships with parents and dating relationships. We will use a mix of curricula including a version of "Prepare and Enrich" for teens, "How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk or Jerkette", "F.A.C.T.S" and others.

We will start as a group, have lunch as a group and end as a group. In-between the group times there will be four breakout sessions for each of the different categories (singles, couples, single parents, married parents, newlyweds and teenagers). The day-long event will last roughly 8 hours and can be held in one full day or two partial days. During these events, we like to put on some sort of parent-kid activity before or after the evnet such as a Mother-Daughter or Mother-Son breakfast or a Father-Daughter or Father-Son dinner.
